CCP in Welding Technology

Program Description

This program offers a broad foundation of knowledge and skills to prepare students for employment in the welding industry.

The NWFSC Welding program provides students the skills, knowledge, and customized training required to be a professional welder.  Students accepted into the program have the opportunity of obtaining NCCER credentials.  Each certificate level is acknowledged by the industry as proof of acquired skills in various forms of welding, cutting, base metal preparation, welding inspection, safety, and metallurgy.  Interested students should review all application materials and selection criteria in the Welding program guide.

Certain programs are labeled as selective and require applicants to fulfill additional requirements before being accepted. Furthermore, there may be a limited number of available seats in the program. Please review the additional criteria provided below and visit the programs website for any further information.

The applicant must 1) earn a Postsecondary Education Readiness (PERT) score that demonstrates college readiness or 2) pass Tests of Adult Basic Education (TABE) with a completion level 10, unless otherwise exempt or 3) fulfill the Florida Statute 6A-10.040 (Basic Skills Requirement for Postsecondary Career Certificate Education) and the provisions provided.
