The Bachelor of Applied Science in Project Management prepares students to effectively lead teams, manage organizational operations, and execute complex projects across a variety of professional settings. Students develop a strong understanding of management philosophy, organizational behavior, business law, financial and economic decision-making, strategic planning, marketing strategy, and professional communication. Courses such as Law and Business (BUL3320) and Financial and Economic Management (FIN4402) provide essential knowledge of the legal and financial frameworks that guide organizational decision-making. Business and Administrative Communication (GEB3213), Management Philosophy and Practice (MAN3052), and Organizational Behavior (MAN3240) reinforce leadership, communication, and team development competencies vital for supervisory success.
Building on this foundation, the program offers a robust Project Management emphasis, preparing students to plan, coordinate, and oversee projects from initiation to completion. Courses such as Project Management Foundations (MAN3583), Acquisition Management (MAN3574), and Project Planning, Scheduling, & Control (MAN4584) introduce students to contemporary tools and methodologies used to manage scope, time, cost, quality, and risk. Project Management & Information Technology (CIS3526) explores the integration of project management principles with emerging technologies, while Managing Agile Projects & Processes (MAN4281) provides hands-on experience with agile frameworks and iterative project cycles.
